The Learning Lab

We were so happy to support a group of Bristol's home educated learners last week at The Learning Lab, the space designated by the Science Creates Outreach programme to help demystify scientific careers, diversify the faces of science and empower confident, skilled problem solvers to be our future scientists.

Senior Scientists from our team, Jack Rogers and Matthew Skeats, hosted a session on what diabetes is and a challenge to find out if glucose meters are accurate enough.

Students took measurements, used a variety of scientific equipment, made a standard solution of glucose and reported their findings. There was also time for a Q&A with the scientists to find out more about their job and interests.
